A line extends from point to point, while
the number two suggests union and indeed
the story Bahrâm hears under the yellow
dome of the sun tells of the search for a
partner. Perhaps, as a musician plucks the
parallel strings of an instrument, Bahrâm
looks both inward and outward, through
the two doors of this illustration, where my
line motifs decorate the dome, the wood
of the doors, the paving of the floor and
channel the water flowing across the yard.
