Ancient manuscripts, whether illustrated or not, were adorned with beautiful borders. These vary greatly with different widths, geometries, floral designs, Islimi or a combination of all the above.

This course will focus on the different borders found in Islamic manuscripts and miniatures.

Learn how to design the main motif and make it turn a corner, as well as how to plot and draw geometric knots. In the process, you will learn all the different drawing and colour techniques required to complete the piece.

You will need to bring your own brushes. All other materials will be supplied.
